Many of the challenges that arise when moving from a Microsoft to Google Android operating system are really related to the differences in the systems’ definitions and history. CE is based on the Windows operating system, but is designed for embedding in mobile and other space-constrained devices. Whereas Google Android is a mobile operating system designed primarily for touch-screen devices such as tablets and mobiles. Switching from one to the other presents a number of opportunities, as well as a number of challenges.
